Safeguarding
How do we keep your child safe?
Safeguarding is everything we do to protect children and promote their safety and wellbeing. All schools have a legal duty to safeguard children, and at Roxeth, the safety and welfare of our children is our highest priority.
We are committed to creating a safe, supportive environment where every child feels listened to, valued and protected.
All staff receive regular safeguarding training, including knowledge checks and updates, to ensure they understand their responsibilities, remain vigilant and know how to recognise and respond to concerns.
Our Safeguarding Team
At Roxeth, we have a dedicated team of staff who are trained to an advanced level in safeguarding and child protection. They are available to support children, staff and families and to respond to any safeguarding concerns.
Meet our Safeguarding Team:
Child Protection
Every child has the right to feel safe and to be listened to.
If a child shares something that makes us concerned about their safety or wellbeing, we will listen carefully, take their concerns seriously, record what they tell us and pass the information to a member of our safeguarding team.
The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) will consider the appropriate next steps and, where necessary, make a referral to Children's Services for advice, assessment and support.
We understand that safeguarding concerns can sometimes lead to difficult or sensitive conversations with families. However, our first responsibility is always to ensure that children are safe and that their voices are heard. We will always act in the best interests of the child.
What should you do if you have a safeguarding concern?
If you are worried about the safety or wellbeing of your child, or another child, please speak to us. We want parents and carers to feel confident in raising concerns, however big or small.
-
If your concern relates to your child, your child's class teacher or Key Stage Leader is a good starting point.
-
If you have a more serious concern, please contact a member of our Safeguarding Team.
-
If your concern relates to a child outside of school, you can contact Harrow Children's Services directly. You do not need to be certain that a child is at risk to raise a concern.
