On Wednesday 22nd November, Roxeth took two teams to the Harrow Primary Schools’ Y5/6 Hockey Qualifier at St. Bernadette’s School in Harrow, against four other schools: St. Bernadette’s, Elmgrove, Marlborough and Longfield. All the games were extremely competitive and closely fought matches, with the two Roxeth teams learning a lot from the experience and growing in confidence as the afternoon went on. One of the Roxeth teams lost their first two games: 2-0 and 3-2, after leading 2-1 for a large amount of the game. They then went on to win their final match against St. Bernadette’s 2-1. The second Roxeth team won their first game against Elmgrove 3-2 after trailing 2-0 with only 4 minutes to go and drew their second match 1-1 against Longfield. In their final match, they were losing 4-1 against a very strong St. Bernadette’s team, but a 3 minute hat-trick from Aser in the final third of the game earned them a 4-4 draw. Roxeth have now qualified for the finals day in the Spring Term. Huge congratulations to Morgan, Sana, Jian, Sofia, Alban, Arhaan, Sara, Hayley, Lysander, Aser, William and Lujain.
