Third Time Lucky!

The Roxeth Rugby team played a tag rugby tournament at Stanburn Primary School against three other schools. They were all close matches, giving the children their first experience of tag rugby match action. In the first match, Roxeth fell to a 1-0 defeat to Glebe and against Marlborough in the second match, the score was 1 try all for most of the second half, but Marlborough just managed to get a winning try in the final few minutes to win 2-1. In the third and final match of the tournament, Roxeth won 3-2 against Stanburn. Player of the tournament was Raphael with some wonderful scoring tries and defensive tags, but the whole squad improved a great deal over the afternoon and showed fantastic discipline to work together as a team when advancing forward and defending.

The squad included a mix of Year 5 and 6 children: Nicholas, Emily, Ishaaq, Raphael, Haneen, Zayaan, Nethika, Miriana, Kavin, Nathan, Prasit and Majd.
