International Day
On Wednesday 1st May, Roxeth Primary celebrated International Day! It was a wonderful day to celebrate and appreciate the wide range of cultures at Roxeth. The children dressed up in traditional clothes and clothes which represented their culture; this made the school a very colourful place! First, we had a whole school assembly with some children telling everyone about their culture and Mrs Merali's dance group performed a variety of dances from around the world! Thank you to Grace, Mishika, Sofia, Ayaan, Abeera, Lena, Safian and Govind for presenting information about their culture. We also watched some of the children's great videos about their culture.
Throughout the day, the children took part in various classroom activities related to countries that represent children at Roxeth. Finally, after school there was a bumper International Day Exhibition which took place in the hall. With the help of the RCC and the parents, we had a variety of stalls from around the world showcasing different food, cultural information, games and much more. The hall was bustling with smiling faces! We were even treated to another great performance from the dance group! A big thank you to Rafa, Nagina, Sofia M, Aaliyah, Aminah, Iqra, Sara, Sofia H, Mishika, Kamsi, Mahi, Imogen, Priya and Neolon for their fantastic dance performances! A huge thank you to the staff, parents/carers and children in our Roxeth community for such a successful day. We look forward to an even bigger International Day next year!
