Y3 Trip to Headstone Manor Museum

Year 3 visited Headstone Manor Museum as they stepped back in time to explore the world of Roman Britain.
The trip brought history to life through the museum's taught workshop, which connects the local area to the vast Roman Empire. The children enjoyed being mini archaeologists, armed with trowels, the children participated in a mock dig, unearthing both real and replica Roman objects to understand how we learn about the past through physical evidence. They looked at primary and secondary sources. The students tested their linguistic skills by learning to write their names in Roman letters and numerals. They used their findings to draw conclusions about the Roman, the local wild lands and the lasting impact the Romans had on Britain’s roads, bridges and society.
