International Day

On Friday 2nd May, we celebrated our annual International Day at Roxeth. It was a day full of fun and joy as staff and children dressed up in clothes that represented their cultures. The day started with an eventful assembly where a variety of children presented information about their countries and cultures. This was followed by a fantastic blend of dance routines performed by our Y5/6 Dance groups. A massive thank you to Mrs Merali for organising and co-ordinating the dance groups!
At the end of the day, we held an International Exhibition in the playground; the weather was absolutely perfect for this! The RCC and a group of extremely kind parent volunteers ran stalls with food, pictures and items that represented their country/culture. We had representation from Romania, Brazil, Somalia, Somaliland, India, Pakistan, United Kingdom, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Palestine & Jamaica. The stalls were colourful, attractive and the Roxeth school community enjoyed tasting a variety of food from around the world! A huge thank you goes out to all the parents/carers who gave up their time to prepare food and items for their stalls! Alongside this, the dance group performed their dance routines in front of the parents in the hall, working tirelessly to display their dances for a second time!
Overall, it was a fantastic day filled with colour, excitement and mutual respect. It is so fantastic to see the range of cultures across our school and to realise how fortunate we are to share our cultures with each other. We're already excited about International Day 2026!
