Y2 Ruislip Lido Trip

On Wednesday 3rd June, Year 2 travelled by coach to Ruislip Lido to support our learning in Science and Geography. As part of our Science topic on Plants, we explored the forest and were amazed by the variety of trees and wildflowers we discovered. We also spotted different animals and insects in their natural habitats.

Our visit to the beach area greatly enhanced our Geography learning about coastal environments. The children had the opportunity to observe and identify both physical features, such as the sand and water, and human features, including pathways, buildings and climbing frames. Seeing these features in a real-life setting helped the children deepen their understanding of how coastal areas are shaped and used by people. They also enjoyed writing their names in the sand and exploring the beach, making their learning both memorable and engaging. Although the rain was relentless throughout the day, it did not dampen our spirits! The children showed great perseverance and enthusiasm as they continued exploring. We also had time to enjoy the climbing frame and swings before heading home.

It was a wonderful day of outdoor learning and the children represented the school brilliantly despite the wet weather.
