Year 4 trip to The River Thames

On the 30th April, Year 4 visited the River Thames at Kew as part of their Geography unit on rivers and environmental issues. They had the opportunity to take part in river dipping and discover first-hand what creatures live in the river by collecting, identifying and observing fish and invertebrates. They also created a natural river habitat to gain an understanding of food chains and adaptations. They looked at how the river environment has changed over time and how pollution and human impact has posed a danger to living things around the Thames over the centuries.
