YEAR 6

Hi everyone! We hope you are all keeping well and staying positive.

At the bottom of the page are some more fun activities that should be completed daily. Furthermore, there are activities that have been set on Purple Mash for you to complete; you will need your Purple Mash login (this may be stuck in your reading records/homelearning diaries already). If you do not have your login, please email the office email to retrieve your login. The year 6 team will be checking your learning and updating the tasks regularly.

Week 5 English

  • ‘…suddenly they froze with nothing to say…’  Use this mysterious story starter to create your own story using no more than 100 words!

  • Read the poem ‘My mother saw a dancing bear’ by Charles Causley.  Write what you think this poem is about in 2 or 3 sentences.  Choose an animal to create your own ‘dancing bear’ style poem using 3 or 4 verses.

  • Research the month of Ramadan and what it means for Muslims.  Use the link to read through the information on Ramadan and then click the link for Activity 3 at the bottom which requires you to reflect on your time at home in the last few weeks and write future family plans.

  • Follow the link below to read through ‘The Unicorn of The Sea’ and then answer the questions about the text.  Once completed, research narwhals and create your own non-fiction text.  Think about including information that may not be in the text such as threats facing narwhals and the future of the narwhal.

  • You must be using Times Table Rockstars daily.

  • Keep working through your CGP Maths books in order of pages that are not yet completed.

Once a day, please click on the following link and watch the short video that explains that day’s maths lesson.  Then ‘Get the Activity’ and work through the worksheet (2 pages), writing down your answers as you go.  When you’re finished, don’t forget to Self-Assess your work by clicking on the ‘Get the Answers’ tab.  If you’re not sure about any of the questions, re-watch the video to try to understand the learning better.
